Who is actually

Evanii Handmade?

My name is Viola, they call me Evanii, and since I was little I loved to create anything. Over the course of my life, I found a great passion for braiding hairstyles, which is a field that has supported me for a few years now. The hair accessories I create combine my love of braids with other things I love.

About my work

My inspiration is mainly nature, but to a large extent also travel, various fantastic worlds and mythologies from all possible corners of the world.

The most often I use

Natural materials

I rarely and do not like to use plastic components in my products. Almost all the decorations you will find in my wraps and braided rubber bands are made of natural materials (wood, metal, bone, ceramics, glass...). I often work with natural objects that I collect myself on my nature walks (pine cones, acorns, pebbles, shells...).

I care about

Recycling

A large part of my decorations are made from recycled materials - these are primarily kanekalon leftovers from knitting for braid clips and rubber bands, scraps of yarn, fabrics, etc. However, one of my favorite materials are scraps of baby wraps, which I try to incorporate into almost most hairwraps.

I use good quality

Kanekalon

Kanekalon is a synthetic material, essentially an imitation of hair, which is used for braiding Afro hairstyles (e.g. rasta braids or dreads). I use this material for braid and dread decorations (clips, rubber bands, hairpieces). In the vast majority of cases, I work with high-quality 100% kanekalon.

Each piece is

Originál

Each of my products is unique, I never make 2 identical pieces, they will always differ in small details. That's why I will never make the same piece according to the template, but I will try to make an ornament in a similar color and style, but in such a way that it is always unique.

They play an important role

Feathers

I love feathers! You'll find them as part of most wraps and most braided elastics. All wraps have removable feathers, so they can be worn not only as part of the wrap, but also separately. I came up with this system myself and I'm quite proud of it :)

Perfection is in the detail

Beads

I use beads mainly from natural materials. I try to buy wooden ones from local manufacturers, as well as ceramic and fired wooden beads - these come from the hands of Saracenova veteš, ceramic and mushroom ones from Rhubarb_cz. I also use Tibetan, Nepalese and African beads made of metal, coconut, glass and bone. I also like to use seed beads (such as rudraksha or kangaroo).

Check also the

Jewelry

In addition to hair ornaments, I also like to make jewelry. You will find mainly feather earrings, but also necklaces made of beads. Once in a while I make special limited edition natural necklaces.

Why are they important to me?

Names

Did you know that every thing I make gets a name? Only when I name the product do I consider it finished. For me it is always a symbolic end to the creative process :)
